Student Poster Sessions

A special student poster session will take place during delegate registration on Sunday, May 20, 2012.  All students attending the conference are encouraged to present their work in this session. All students attending the conference with a grant must present their work in this session, and must submit a contribution to the proceedings.

All work to be presented by students has been compiled into a special abstracts brochure. They will be assigned a poster panel, reserved for this session. NOTE:  All student posters are also presented during the "normal" poster sessions.
Student posters must be mounted early in the afternoon, from 14:00, students must be present to discuss their work between 14:00 and 18:00. The posters must remain in place until 20:00.

The IPAC´12 Scientific Program Committee will judge the posters competing for the Best Student Posters also from 14:00.

Best Student Posters
A $200 cash prize for the best student poster will be awarded for particularly meritorious work, selected by members of the Scientific Program Committee (SPC) during the special poster session for students. The posters will be judged by the IPAC´12 Scientific Program Committee. The prize and certificate will be presented during the Accelerator Prizes Session during IPAC´12.

Judging Criteria for Best Student Posters

  • Scientific merit: quality and significance of the work
  • Presentation: clarity of communication; appropriate use of text, diagrams/images and graphs; overall appearance of the poster
Student´s contribution: the work may be carried out within a team or large collaboration; however, the extent to which the student has made a leading or critical contribution should be made clear.
